Meet Amrit Kaur, a dynamic and witty 21-year-old from Qatar. Amrit, who for the most part grew up in Singapore and Qatar, got her feet wet fairly quickly. At such a tender age, she has already lived the dream of many budding designers, which is to be able to present her designs at the Paris Fashion Week, thrice!
Her flair for fashion led her to pursue Fashion Designing at the prestigious Instituto Maragoni, Paris. Post graduating she started her own label called Amrit Kaur Paris, a cultural fusion brand which is currently making its presence in Qatar, UAE, Singapore & India. What makes her stand out from the rest? Her deep understanding of fashion thanks to her radical take on ultra-feminine fashion, strong and structured silhouettes and fine tailoring skills.
The freedom to create while doing what you love is what I adore most in running my business.
Tanvi from our team had a little chat with her.
Here are the snippets:
What motivated and inspired you to start your business?
As a fashion designer and an artist, I am quite passionate about my vision & aesthetics.
Spreading my joy of creations in performing fashion inspired me to start a business.

What do you love most about running your business?
The freedom to create while doing what you love is what I adore most in running my business. Along the way, I also had the pleasure of meeting and working with people who shared the same sentiment of passion for creating something personal & new.
What advice would you give to other woman entrepreneurs?
No matter what anyone says to you, always trust your instinct & believe in it. There will be many obstacles that will make you feel like giving up, but never let it affect your vision.
How do you keep motivated through difficult times?
I keep myself optimistic and headstrong & calmly, try to find solutions. I believe, there’s always a positive way through anything.
Do you have a business philosophy?
I would like to quote one of my inspirations, Richard Branson, “Don’t enjoy it? Don’t do it!”. This is my motto. If I feel that a project does not get me excited about it, I sense it may not fit well. Even then, I always give the project my best try. However, it is good to be selective and give it your 100%.
There will be many obstacles that will make you feel like giving up, but never let it affect your vision!
